Grand
Master Earl Portnoy is the founder
and director of the ADAPT street
survival systems, a civilian and law
enforcement training system. He has
been teaching the Soo Hwa Kung Fu
System for 32 years. He has Black
Belt rankings of various degrees in
Kenpo, Shuai Chiao, and Moo Do Kwan.
He has also studied Aiki Jutsu,
JuJitsu, Arnis/Escrima, Wing Chun
Kung Fu and Chow Family Kung Fu. He
trains and writes defensive tactics
curriculums for local police
departments as well as private
security. He is a personal
protection officer for celebrities
and high profile individuals. He has
trained members of the Kansas City
Chiefs (1973-76), New York Jets
(1993-95) and taughtFederal Air
Marshalls following the 9/11
attacks. From 1999-04 he was an AAU
Chinese Martial Arts Chairman. He is
currently the AAU National CMA
Vice-Chairman and Southwestern
Chairman. He is certified through
the state and federal governments as
a defensive tactics instructor. He
is an international judge as well as
a tournament coordinator for many
different organizations. He has
hosted the AAU National
Championships as well as regional
and local tournaments. He has been
inducted into numerous Halls of
Fame. He is involved in the process
of having the AAU become the
National Governing Body for the US
for the Chinese Martial Arts and
representing the US in the 2008
Olympic Games in Beijing. He
volunteers for the Collin County
Rape Crisis Center and the Crime
Prevention Unit of the Plano Police
Department. He also helps with the
Children's Annual Cancer Fund and
Benefit. |
