Dave Park

Master Dave Park started taking Isshin-Ryu Karate in 1976. As of 1979, he opened his first dojo in Bulls Gap, TN. He started the first martial arts school in Rhea County, TN in 1980 at the YMCA. He taught at the YMCA as Head Karate Instructor for 10 years until opening and running his own school in 1990, Park’s Karate of Isshin-Ryu School. He currently holds the ranks of 6th Dan in Isshin-Ryu Karate and 1st Dan in Goshen JuJitsu. He has certifications of instruction in Isshin-ryu Karate, Judo/JuJitsu, Pressure Point Study Theory and Weapons. He has taught various classes, clinics, and seminars in different martial arts schools. He teaches students from the ages of 4-61. He has also worked with handicapped students who are deaf/mute and in wheelchairs. He was the 1984 National Super-Light Weight Champion, 1985-87 Isshin-Ryu Hall of Fame Super-Light Weight Champion, 1987 “TKC” Tennessee State Super-Light Weight Champion, 1987 East Tennessee State Championship Karate Team Head Instructor/Trainer and was selected 3 times for Who’s Who in Karate Magazine. He was inducted into the Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame as Master Instructor of the Year-Isshin Ryu in 2003.
