Requirements & Nomination Procedure
The Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame gives recognition to
individuals and organizations that have made significant
contributions to the martial arts. Nominees who meet stringent
standards are considered and must pass a rigorous, comprehensive
evaluation by our Board of Directors to be approved for induction
into this institution.
If you believe that your nominee deserves induction into the
Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame please use Nomination Ballot to
submit your nomination.
PLEASE NOTE: You may not nominate yourself and you may not nominate
an individual more than once in a given year.

- Induction is based on the
following criteria:
- Once ballots are received, nominees are
notified by letter or e-mail and the selection process is initiated.
If you are selected by the board for induction, you will be notified
at a later date. The Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame induction
ceremony is a formal event. Inductees are encouraged to invite
family, friends, and students to attend. Interested members of the

Acceptance of Nomination Procedures
Late inductions may not be accepted nor included in the UMAHoF
Yearbook and other promotions. To insure your induction submit your
acceptance information and photos immediately!

What You Need to Send to
UMAHoF

- Resumes and Rank
Certification. All nominees must send us a
current One Page
(typed) martial arts resume and a copy of your most current rank certificate(s)
- if applicable, along with the signed Acceptance
of Nomination Affidavit before your nomination can be accepted
by our Board of Directors.

- Photographs.
Along with your resume and certificates of rank we require two
(2) passport photos of you for our records department and one
(1) high quality large photograph (preferably color 8x10 or
8x11) of you in uniform or martial arts attire. These
photographs will be used in our yearbook and website and become
the sole property of The Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame.

- Deadlines.
The final deadline for inclusion in the 2005
Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame and the UMAHoF Yearbook is
May 1, 2005. No Nomination Acceptance Forms or materials will be
accepted after this date.
If You Are Accepted for
Induction.

- If your nomination for induction into the
Universal Martial Arts Hall Of Fame is accepted by our Board of
Directors you will be notified by mail or email within approximately
thirty (30) days of our having received your acceptance packet (see
above acceptance procedures).
If accepted, you will be honored the upcoming UMAHoF Expo and
Induction ceremony in Houston, Texas on July 28-30, 2005.
This unique three-day Expo includes seminars, training camps and
demonstrations by some of the top martial artists from around the
globe as well as the renowned UMAHoF tournament. The Expo is
concluded on the last evening with the black-tie induction ceremony
and a delicious buffet dinner for all who that attend. If you have
special diet requirements, please contact us. You and your students
won’t want to miss this once in a lifetime opportunity so come
early. We look forward to seeing you there!
What to Do Next

- Confirm your
induction. Please R.S.V.P. as soon as possible.
We request timely response your notification if you plan to
accept the nomination and attend the event. This is a formal
event (tuxedo required). Family, friends, students and other
guests are invited to attend.

- Pay your
induction and Expo fees. Unlike other
organizations, the Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame does not
charge you an extra fee for the induction itself. The actual
induction is free. Your induction fees help cover the cost of
the event, your customized trophy, the printing of your
Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame personalized and numbered
induction certificate, your membership card, the induction
ceremony and banquet dinner and your permanent induction into
roster of honorees in our office of records and on the Universal
Martial Arts Hall of Fame Web site.

- UMAHoF Expo
Including free trade show, Seminars with the Masters, Grappling
& Karate Tournaments, and War Zone™ Friday Night Jiu Jitsu
Fights!

- Tournament Video
Pass Fee. Those wishing to video tape the
tournament event are required to pay a video pass fee of $20.00
for the entire event. Please note that spectators at the
training camp will not be allow to videotape unless the President grants prior permission. The reason for
this is that a certain amount can be learned just by watching
and even more if it is video taped for future review. That is
not fair to all those who neither paid for the training nor is
it fair to the instructors who may not wish to be video taped.

reservations: The 2005 Universal Martial Arts
Hall of Fame Expo and Induction Event will be held at the

July 28th, 29th, & 30th, 2005. UMAHoF has secured a
discounted room rate at the Expo hotel for all inductees, their
guest and associates.

- Make your travel
arrangements. All inductees and guests must make
their own travel arrangements well in advance of the event.
Often substantial discounts can be made for travel arrangements
made months before the trip. We suggest you consult a travel
agent or check online at travel Web sites like Orbitz.com or
Travelocity.com

- Refunds.
Please note that once committed there can be no refunds since
all fees are applied to the cost of induction awards and the
promotion of the event.
