Professor Tom Shamuon
Board of Director
Master Tom Shamuon has been in the
martial arts for over 30 years. He
is Master Instructor at Ron Day’s
Kitchener Kicks Martial Arts
Academy. He has competed in many
national and international
tournaments. He was a member in good
stading of Can/Am National in
1990-95. He was a member of PKC
(Professional Karate Commission) and
on the Board of Directors 1995-00.
He has also been a board member of
PMA (Professional Martial Arts
Alliance) since 2000. He runs the
annual Karate/Kung Fu Maynia
tournament. He is an International
Pankration Referee. Since 2001, he
has been Team Head Coach for Team
Canada. He competed in the ‘World
Congress of Martial Arts tournament
in Mexico winning 1 medal and in
Venezuela winning 1 medal. He
competed in the World Congress of
Martial Arts tournament in Puerto
Vallarta in 2003. He was one of 3
people to win a triple crown at this
event for the Masters Division. He
will be going to the Goodwill Games
2004 to receive his ring. He
competed in the World Congress of
Martial Arts-World Cup Championships
in Jamaica winning 3 silvers in
Forms, Weapons and Sparring. He is
recognized by the Prime Minister of
Canada and Ministry of Sport for
coaching Team Canada. He currently
holds a Master Level in Kung Fu. In
January 2004 he received his 7th
Degree Black Sash from the Sanryudo
Foundation. |
